Why children dislike math?

One of the most common complaints among children who dislike math is it's too difficult or that they're not smart enough. Sadly, this belief is one that can severely impact any child’s success in mathematics. Mathematics will be very important because it is used every day and in the future too. Mathematics is the cradle of all creations, without which the world cannot move an inch. Be it a cook or a farmer, a carpenter or a mechanic, a shopkeeper or a doctor, an engineer or a scientist, a musician or a magician, everyone needs mathematics in their day-to-day life (Guwahati, 2015). Even insects use mathematics in their everyday life for existence. Many factors make children dislike mathematics which is that they learn with anxiety so that makes them depressed and also children think math dulls. Therefore parents and teachers need to work together to overcome this such as by including some fun games to learn mathematics so that they like mathematics and show children how math relates to real-world scenarios to spark his or her interest in the subject.

The most frequent problem of why dislike math is they learn with anxiety and also children think math dulls. Too many marks in mathematics are one of the reasons math less interesting, many children who struggle with math struggle with memorizing all the rules and equations involved, so that makes them depressed. With subjects such as English or writing, marks can come from a variety of factors like creativity, spelling, grammar, style, punctuation, and more. They see math as abstract and irrelevant figures that are difficult to understand.

Parents should show children how mathematics relates to real-world scenarios to spark interest in the subject and play math games. If we have relatives or friends who work with numbers for their careers, ask them to talk to children about their work at a later time. We can also show how mathematics plays a role in everyday life such as when calculating total expenditure and exact time. parents can also focus their children on logic, not right or wrong. Help children learn to see right or wrong answers as positive. If your child works hard and understands material with logic, there is a 100% chance of being tested on the test.

The teacher also holds an important role as someone who teaches every day can help teach children to concentrate on understanding how and why this formula works. Instead of simply memorizing, children should concentrate on understanding how and why these formulas work. Children who depend on memorization when learning math aren’t able to apply their knowledge and tend to become discouraged when asked to think outside of the box. In children’s spare time, offer him or her number-based brain teasers that focus on building problem-solving skills rather than memorization. This can be a fun way to get your child excited about math. We can use math games too as flashcards 2 + 5 or draw 10 ducks in a row in class. Playing math games with children encourages the skills to understand these concepts. And the game makes math a lot more fun.

In short, children who do not like math are important problems because mathematics will always be used in everyday life, and this can be overcome by collaboration from parents and teachers such as by directing fun learning with math games and focusing on learning logic. Of the solutions suggested, those made by parents are likely to have more impact, though it is clear that a concerted effort with the teacher is essential for success. With an effort like this can make children prefer math.
